Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen.
This is your friendly reminder and invitation to join us for tomorrow’s (Oct 17th) Episcopal Veterans Fellowship gathering. Same time and place as every first and third Tuesday of the month (noon at Grace West, right after the healing service). Bringing your lunch is optional… if you don’t care if you eat or not.
One last reminder about the first annual Field of Honor in Central Texas, presented by the Rotary Club of Georgetown during the week of Veteran’s Day (5-12 Nov). There will be over 1,500 full-size American flags on display in San Gabriel Park, each having been purchased by individuals to honor their personal hero. This fundraiser will support providing service dogs to veterans with PTSD (or other need that requires a service dog). For more information, visit http://www.georgetowntxfieldofhonor.org/.
Also in November (18th), VFW Post 8787 in Austin will be hosting a Vet Fest, just to get vets together with the organizations that serve them. I’m going to be down there manning EVF’s Tiny Chapel with Fr David that day, and we’d love to see some of you down there. I’ll get more info out to you in the coming weeks.
If you haven’t marked your calendars for the 2017 Veterans Tactical Retreat at Pax Christi House in Brenham on December 1st and 2nd, you’ve been ignoring my emails. It will cost around $80 for food and lodging at the House, but please don’t let cost be the reason you don’t attend – let Fr David or I know if you or someone you know needs financial assistance. More information on the retreat is available here http://episcopalveteransfellowship.org/get-involved/retreats/, and you can get registration info via email from Fr David.
Thanks for your faithfulness and blessings to you all. I hope to see you all tomorrow.
best regards, kevin
