2017 Veterans Conference

The Episcopal Veterans Fellowship will host the 3rd Annual Veterans Conference for veterans and veteran caregivers on Friday, September 22. The conference will take place at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

This one-day event will include a talk defining moral injury by The Rev. Dr. Brian S. Powers. A veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, Powers graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary and earned his Ph.D in Theological Studies at Emory University’s Graduate Division of Religion.


Veteran Caesar Stovall was an Army Combat Medic in Iraq and Afghanistan and is now a Licensed Hypnotherapist and Givenchy model. Stovall will give a presentation on neuroscience and positive psychology and will lead conference attendees in a mini-immersion experience.


The 2017 Veterans Conference will equip counselors, medical professionals, clergy, veterans’ advocates, and interested parties with an understanding of the causes of moral injury and way to address it.
